Abby Jenne and the Enablers: Music

Johnson, VT

(The Abby Jenne Band)
2004-04-10
Abby Jenne
This is true account of what happened after my parents threw me out of their house in 1993 (for good reason.) None of this actually occurred within the town line of Johnson but that's where I was trying to go. Special thanks to Jen Landry Bennet for Chinook-ing me the hell away from those crazy fuckers after Bread and Puppet.
JOHNSON, VT
A. Jenne
Lit out for Johnson with my world on my back
Fifty bucks in my pocket and some bud in a sack
Took in some Yager and I started to yak
To a bunch of Vermonters who helped me unpack

Took me to a party, way on up in the Kingdom
Way out to a cabin
To some folks and their freedom
And he slapped the moves on my like he was born out of Sodom
But I let him lead me to the fire with his hand on my bottom

Then we went out to the back porch and looked up at the heavens
At the Northern Lights falling down and the shooting stars by the dozen
And the girls dancing naked like they are part of some coven
And the men shooting guns calling everyone cousin.

World spinning round in my head only smaller
I felt myself fall down and a woodchuck holler
And he gave me his bottle and the bite made me shiver
So I went back to the house ‘cause I feared for my liver

Chorus

Took myself out past the reeds and the rushes to take me a piddle and there
I spied me some tushes
And they were bumpin’ and grindin’ to the tune of their wishes
That soon became mine as I hid in the bushes

Chorus

Well it’s been a few years since I lit out from Johnson
With more worlds on my back in a shitty blue Datsun
And I’ll never go back and I don’t really mind it
But that cabin, that party well man I doubt you could find it

Chorus
And I lit out for Johnson
Fifty bucks in my pocket
And the memory stays with me and I thought I had lost it.
I thought I had lost it.
I thought I had lost it.
