Abby Jenne and the Enablers: Music
Do Something
(The Abby Jenne Band)
2002-04-10
Ezra Oklan and Abby Jenne
Ezra came into the studio and had a bass line. He laid it down. He then laid down the guitar track. Then he played drums. Abby went home and wrote the lyrics (which range in this one from creepy to just plain silly) in about 20 minutes, went back to the studio in the morning and laid them down. This one probably should have been cut from the album (through no fault of Ezra, of course.) But it wasn't. Enjoy!!
DO SOMETHING
E.zra Oklan, A. Jenne
We live in the enemy’s back yard
The gate is left open but we won’t get far
He’s left us some beer and a TV
The air and the water are poisoned, but hey we’re drunk and we’re “free”
But what if today we did something
More than just play oh just something
But man there’s nuthin’ to do
But what if today we did something
More than just play oh just something
But baby what could we do
We live in the enemy’s dungeon
We eat the crap that he cooks in his kitchen of science and deceit
He controls what we get of our planet
And he don’t care if you’re Brad or you’re Janet
Because you’re gonna get screwed
But what if today we did something, more than just play and did something
Maybe we oughta do something, somebody better do something
Maybe I shoud do something, why don’t you do something
Baby we gotta do something and there is so much we could do.
