Abby Jenne and the Enablers: Music
Brave New Woman
(The Abby Jenne Band)

Abby Jenne
I wrote this song during the Wedding Summer of 2001. every freakin' weekend some other friend was getting married. All of my disposible income went to wedding presents and wedding travel and my disposible emotional energy went to explaining to well meaning friends and family members why I wasn't married. Sometimes it's just easier to write a song, record it, and have people refer to it when they have questions or concerns. Look forward to "The Odie Story: Why I Limp and My Butt Is Bald" coming soon to an album near you.
BRAVE NEW WOMAN
A. Jenne
It’s a brave new world, and I’m a brave woman
Didn’t have to settle down at 23
Momma’s old world ain’t the one that I’m after
I’m gonna find out who I’m gonna be
Gotta good friend, she’s almost 30, she’s already picked out a giant rock for her hand
Figures in about a year, she’ll have her first baby
What a tight little schedule and a good yes-man
But what if at 31, I’m still a-looking
But I gotta phat place a good dog and a band
Does that mean that I should hang it up and take up rug-hookin’
Cause I haven’t found a brave enough man
*Break*
I’m still pretty fricken cute at age 27
And I’m smarter and sweeter than I was at 19
Ill still get a fill up if I keep my engine revving
If my dooners match my bra and my fingernails are clean
But momma had me at age 25, and Gramma had her when she was 20
Although its pretty freakin’ freaky, when I’m fifty they can build me
Little DNA babies all exactly like me-oh
It’s a brave new world and I’m a brave woman
Didn’t have to settle for some frat-boyardee
Had a lot of fun and there’s a lot more a comin
If worse comes to worst I’ll get my PhD
Or start my own cult and move to Italy
Or I might marry you and raise a real….family
