Abby Jenne and the Enablers: News
Opening for National Southern Rockers Blackberry Smoke - September 13, 2011
So it started out by Abby saying to me (Gary) "hey, there is this kick ass band going to play the Stowe Spruce Peak Performing Arts Center called Blackberry Smoke and we should open for them." I said "Ok" let me see what I can do. The rest was history and on September 9th, 2011 Abby and The Enablers got a taste of what it's like to be treated like rock n rollers in a beautiful venue opening for a kick ass Southern Rock Band! What an experience we soon won't forget. Thank you Blackberry Smoke and Spruce Peak Performing Arts Center.

So here we are again. I love the Enablers. Jim, Dug, Bob and Simon and I are having a lot of fun rocking the twang lately. I have decided that even though Bennett Shapiro (Love Town Studio) has called our music Progressive Country, I have decided that Amerijuana is more apt. Speaking of Bennett, I have to finish mixing our tracks if we are to have our EP out by Christmas...yes, Christmas. Look forward to two new tunes and some remakes from Random Road and yes, there will be a cover. We haven't decided which one yet. If you have suggestions, let us know on the community page. Other than that, I am at the mercy of a wee dictator in short pants who will wake up any minute. I just thought this news page looked a little bleak. Stuff has happened. I've just been to busy enjoying it to write!

Dudes, I am still fucking trying to write this stupid album and I have like 3 songs I actually like. I think I'm gonna pull a cover album out of my ass so people will have something to chew on while I write some more. Nice image. People chewing what comes out of my ass. See what I mean? I know it's been 3 years, but hey. You can't write it if it doesn't want to be written. I'm just a vessel. For what comes out of my ass.
Anyhoo, all I can smell is weed because my dog got skunked again (2nd time in a week) at the beach last night. He went down the stairs, ran 3 steps and blammo. That wasn't a little dog for him to play with, but a skunky-friend. He is almost 60 years old (8 1/2) been sprayed about 7 times and still wants to be friends with these critters. Stupid, or is there some wisdom/ faith that we humans lack?
So, I'll be home in Montpelier on Friday, to play in Barre at the Granite City Brewing Friday night, Saturday at the Waitsfield Farmers' Market (lets see if I actually show up this year) and I am having a moving party on Saturday afternoon with a keg for all my moving buddies (this means you), as I collect my belongings from Northfield and reinstall them in Montpelier.
What am I doing at me lap top? I'm going to the beach, even if my ass is sunburned. That's why they created Zinca. Ta.

It's snowing and lovely here in the big V.T. Just met with Ezra (drummer boy) at the wee cafe near my house and had some time while he went to an "appointment" to get on line and do my job; I'm happy you are here. Spank you. Very much.
So due to slick conditions, my all girl super group (Calmaity Jane) has decided to forgo our ubiquitous Monday rehearsal. I am thinking of calling up the back line for some beer and open mike at the cafe katty corner to my humble abode. Really I should be blowing up air mattress #2 (#1 is bulbous and wierd and about to pop after a year of shaggadelic use) but no. Life is short and so are the days. Plus it is snowing.
